With its entire product portfolio based on steel wires and plates and while capitalizing on the experience gained over more than 100 years, Costacurta produces and supplies a wide range of components used by machine manufacturers active in diverse industries, including food and beverage, mechanical, textile, pulp and paper and water treatment.  To further expand Costacurta’s market share in the Netherlands and Belgian, Nikkel at work is now looking for an experience Outside Sales Representative.

About your role at Costacurta

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Outside Sales Representative to develop and grow Costacurta’s business in the Netherlands and Belgium, with a primary focus on Filtering Elements and Metal Conveyor Belts.  Operating as the commercial front-end in the assigned territory, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, converting them into lasting customer relationships, and acting as the key interface between customers and the HQ Technical Sales team in Italy.

The role operates within a clear organisational model: you will explore the market, lead the commercial relationship and generate new requests for quotation, while the Italian HQ Technical Sales Team is responsible for further defining the technical and commercial viability of any offer to be made.  As Sales Representative , you will then present the offer to the customer, keeping HQ in the loop and enabling the latter to oversee the client opportunity throughout the negotiation process.  This structure ensures both agility in the field and a certain depth of technical and business expertise in the process.

The role in more detail

Market Development & Business Generation

  • You will proactively identify and approach new potential customers within pre-defined target applications and market segments;
  • You will qualify prospects by understanding their production processes, technical challenges and purchasing criteria. With these insights you will generate new Requests for Quotation (RfQ’s);
  • You will monitor market trends, competitors’ behaviour, and emerging technologies to -where relevant- adjust commercial strategies and report back to HQ.

Customer Relationship Management

  • You are able to build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with OEMs, end users, and distributors across the Netherlands and Belgium;
  • You capture and identify customers’ technical and operational requirements, translating them into well-defined briefs for the HQ Technical Sales team;
  • You will present technical-commercial proposals to customers, coordinating closely with HQ throughout the offer definition and negotiation phases;
  • You are keen on providing after-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.

 Brand & Market Representation

  • You will represent Costacurta at customer visits, trade fairs, and industry events within the assigned territory;
  • You will act as a trusted technical advisor and brand ambassador, upholding Costacurta’s reputation for quality and application expertise.

What does Costacurta offer?

  • Working with a cross-border team, being active across the assigned territory with an exciting and diversified working environment;
  • Working for a broad variety of clients, of course with frequent site and other visits;
  • Plenty of opportunities to develop and enhance your professional skills and develop yourself within the Costacurta organization;
  • A competitive salary package (incl. 8% holiday allowance) and a performance related bonus;
  • 25 days of holiday (at 100% employment rate);
  • Provision of mobile phone, laptop and car/transportation allowance;
  • A good and solid balance between your working life and your private life.

Your profile

Experience & Background

  • You have at least 6-8 years of B2B sales experience in industrial and/or food processing equipment manufacturing, or in an adjacent industry;
  • You hold a higher professional education (HBO) or university degree in a relevant direction (such as mechanical/industrial engineering, materials science, technical business administration) or an equivalent professional experience;
  • You have a proven track record in selling technically and tailormade products. Any experience with conveyor systems, automated equipment, and/or filtration solutions is preferred;
  • Familiarity with OEM sales dynamics and end-user account management.

Technical & Commercial Skills

  • You have a strong technical mindset, i.e. the ability to understand customers’ application requirements and translate them into solutions. To that extent, you ‘speak the language’ of the (potential) customer;
  • You possess strong commercial acumen. You proactively spot opportunities, investigate their potential, and confidently approach prospective clients to turn them into long-term business relationships.  You combine a healthy level of assertiveness with the empathy and people skills needed to build trust and create lasting partnerships.  Also, you understand and respect that, given the nature of Costacurta’s business, a full sales cycle takes a longer time;
  • You are experienced in managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to offer presentation to negotiation support;
  • You are comfortable operating in a distributed team model, coordinating effectively with remote technical and commercial functions.

Personal Attributes

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, self-driven approach to business development. You are a self-starter, a self-initiator and being accurate and curious are your characteristics;
  • You work in a structured fashion and are organised in time management, with the ability to independently prioritise a diversified portfolio of opportunities;
  • You are a reliable, results-oriented professional, comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.

Location & Mobility

  • You are based in the Netherlands, with a valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the Netherlands and Belgium (frequent day trips; occasional overnight travel for trade events or HQ visits in Italy).

Languages, other

  • You are a native Dutch speaker; fluent in English (mandatory, as working language with HQ);
  • Knowledge of the French and/or Italian language is a plus, given the Benelux market coverage and Italian HQ environment;
  • You must already have the legal right to work and reside in the Netherlands at the time of application. Costacurta is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
